First and foremost -- I think tutoring can and should be fun. Because I specialize in Japanese education, something that is not as common as French, Spanish, or even German, I'm lucky enough to have students who genuinely want to learn the language. For that reason, I think it is easy for both of us to enjoy the language-learning process; students always learn better in an environment where they're enjoying themselves.

I've taught two courses now within the K-12 range for Japanese, and hope to continue doing so. Those who are particularly interested in learning Japanese, either to supplement a course they are taking, or to start from scratch, we can work together to develop a curriculum that will be best suited for the student. Because it's a language and everyone will be coming in at a different level, the one-on-one teaching experience really lends itself to a positive learning environment. During sessions I'll be able to take in and address any difficulties you may be having, and also we can focus on whatever aspect of the language you are particularly interested in.

Having both learned from, and taught from a variety of textbooks, I have an enormous amount of Japanese education texts and we can also form those to whichever fits your interests and what you want to get out of the tutoring sessions. I've had students who simply wanted to brush up on their already learned skills or others who are looking to build a firm foundation with the language.

Fluent in German, Japanese, and English, and am also proficient in Korean. I'm willing to meet with someone who needs help with any of these topics. Also, anything with social sciences or liberal arts that has to do with academic writing, I am also more than qualified to help. 

Those who are particularly interested in learning Japanese, we will work together to set up a curriculum that works for the student and plays to their strengths, while working to improve things they may find difficult.
