I have been teaching for over 12 years and tutoring for more than 6 years.  I am a very passionate teacher and enjoy helping students achieve their individual best.  I have a Masters degree in education, a Multi-subject teaching credential, a Bachelors in psychology, and an emergency special education credential.  I teach to the individual student's learning style and needs.  I have also worked closely with parents who home school their children. I beleive as a team, we can help your child achieve their goals.  I also am a strong believer in positive reinforcement and building a child's self-esteeem.  I am a very organized and structured teacher with strong communication skills. I have also worked as a case manager for a private learning center, and for San Diego City Schools.  I have worked closely with behavior specialists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, and psychologists. I worked a short time as a resource teacher. At the time, I had a child and started my tutoring business. I feel blessed to have had so many wonderful mentors in my educational career that have helped me become a successful and excellent teacher. I have spent the last 7 years building my tutoring business and becoming well known in my community.  Most of my new students come from referrals from other parents. I am available to tutor Monday- Thursday 10:00-6:00. I consider myself to be a great teacher who cares for the individual needs of each of my students. I mostly enjoy teaching Kindergarden-8th grade.  My favorite subjects to teach are writing, reading comprehension, and grammar.  I feel confident that you will be very pleased with me and the services I provide for your child. I do not use specific programs for all students. I customize the lessons for each child.  Some of the programs I enjoy using are Read Naturally, Lindamood-Bell Phonemic Sequencing Program, Seeing Stars,and Visualizing and Verbalizing.  I look forward to helping your child reach their individual best!
