I am currently a college student studying mathematics and science, with a goal of teaching at the high school level. I maintain a 3.6 grade point average. I am a proficient writer, I began my college career in journalism. Above all, I love to teach and tutor. Education is of great importance to me and I believe that everyone can learn. It sometimes requires multiple approaches because not everyone learns in the same way. Particularly with math and science I believe that there are many types of students. Some people learn by observation, some by action, and some are able to absorb and repeat. Not all teachers are able to cater to these different learning styles and many students suffer for it. A little extra effort and attention can be all that is required to change a students outlook, confidence, and ultimately their grade for the better. My previous experience is primarily in assisting classmates at the college level both over the phone and aiding the teachers in class, this will be my first endeavor into private tutoring. I can offer my personal grades and recommendations from professors upon request. I can also offer answers to questions online and over the phone in addition to one on one tutoring granted that the assignation is a minimum of 2 hours a week. My fee is 15$ an hour and I work out of my home in Edgewater, but would be willing to meet at a library in your area with plenty of notice (I have a 13 month old boy). During the summer my schedule is flexible but I am mostly available in the afternoon. Once school begins, in August, I will be available Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
