With more than 3 years of tutoring experience, I would be an exceptional assistance to your child. Throughout most of my high school and undergraduate studies, I have dedicated time to helping students, many of whom were from underprivileged backgrounds in Washington, D.C., with their reading, math, and history skills, helping them reach the standards that were expected of them. As my resume will illustrate, my experience spans both the New York City and Washington D.C. Public Schools, having volunteered during the school year and summer at a local elementary school for the former, and for the latter, through a program called D.C. Reads at two local elementary/middle schools in Washington, D.C., where I helped underprivileged children realize their potential and achieve a level of understanding many of them never thought possible. In both cases, I worked with children as young as 4 years of age and as old as 18.
Academically, I am particularly proficient in reading, writing, math, and SAT prep, having scored a 1350 out of 1600 (700 on the reading section) and a 30 on the ACT. I was in the top 9 percent of my high school graduating class of almost 1000, and as a rising academic senior at the George Washington University, I have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.68, with a 3.88 last semester.
Whether it’s the tutoring and teaching assistant jobs that I have held, or the smaller but no less important jobs, such as hosting a Model UN Conference for middle and high-schoolers or taking disenfranchised children to a Mets game through my congressman’s office I have always enjoyed working with students and relished the pride and fulfillment that I get when I help them finally grasp a concept that they had been struggling with. I am confident that I will be of service to your cihld, and I can see no better way of experiencing a fulfilling and enriching summer, than in helping students reach their learning potential.
