I graduated from the Free University of Brussels and Im holding a Masters Degree in Communication Science and a Certificate of Pedagogical Competence. I'm a second career teacher after years of working in the maritime sector. I am a native speaker of Dutch, French and German and I'm fully qualified to teach the Germanic languages, French and Spanish together with a range of other subjects.
I am an enthousiastic European languages and special needs teacher with a very wide background in a variety of fields. My tutoring style is completely designed around the students and their specific problems. Being a special needs teacher I thoroughly consider each persons learning style and link it to the existing learning problem in order to develop a personal tutoring plan, all this in consultation with the student.
My own teaching style also evolves around the students. I use a variety of methods and try to keep the learning experience as fun as possible, completely based on one's own pace of learning and understanding.
As a fully qualified teacher I can provide tutoring for several high school subjects, learning support, homework support. As a special needs I'm also trained to screen learning problems, to work with Kurzweil 3000, to develop reading or writing strategies and to teach mindmapping. As a language teacher I can help you out with literacy/numeracy, discretion guaranteed. As an ESL teacher I can help you out with IELTS prep, both general and academic.
I have experience working with students from all age groups and all characters. I am acquainted with class room teaching and with one on one tutoring. I firmly believe in the importance of tutoring on a personal base where the student has a central place and the tutor is guiding the student throughout the proces of learning.
