Experience:

I have over 25 years experience teaching languages - French, English, Spanish, Italian, Mandarin Chinese, Hindi and Punjabi - in my own language school as well as in academic and corporate environment. My passion and my specialty is guiding students to fluency and competence in languages.  I have developed numerous techniques and approaches to facilitate the language learning process.  I myself continue to learn new languages and cultures for personal enjoyment.

Making learning Enjoyable:

Many people believe learning a new language is difficult, boring and time-intensive. It can be fun and easy when you have the right teacher, the right approach and the right materials.

Ease of learning:

Students can develop a basic knowledge of a new language quickly so they can apply it immediately.  Progress is systematic and enjoyable when they are guided properly.  More advanced students can develop faster, as well.

Customized Approach:

I have a customized approach to teaching, since I understand that every situation and every student is different.  With the student's  input, I will set up a custom program exactly suited to his or her needs. I match my approach to the student's learning style: visual, auditory and kinesthetic.  A canned approach to learning does not work.

Informal but Structured Style of Tutoring:

My tutoring style is informal. It is based on establishing good rapport, understanding my students' psychology and making the sessions as enjoyable as possible.  In other words, I want the students to feel  comfortable and to enjoy themselves in my classes. I have found that this is crucial in getting good results.  Happy people learn much better than bored and stressed ones.

At the same time, I am very structured in my approach to learning.  The material is systematically covered and gradually mastered.

Resources and Media:

I currently  also use many of the amazing Internet tools available for language learning. There is an explosion of free or almost free materials and systems available. They contain, videos, recordings, flash-card systems etc. and they make learning far more efficient and enjoyable. They immediately allow language students to get great exposure to the language they are learning and they connect them with the learning process.

I always do an in-depth interview to determine the best approach and schedule.
