I passed the CPA exam and prepare taxes during tax season. I really enjoy tutoring and helping others to learn the information that they need to learn.

My approach in tutoring is to break down the material so that it is easy to understand especially the homework assignments and problems. I've found that one of the most difficult parts of homework for many students I've tutored is that they have no idea about where to begin the problem. They tend to start with the narrative and then they get completely lost.

I like to start at the beginning, make sure that they are comfortable with the material and that they are clear about how to approach business subjects or math. Many of the people I've worked with tend to have problems with handling word problems and using a visual approach. I like to show them that with the right approach the work is much easier than they think it is.

I also like to show students additional ways to review topics that will be both enjoyable and reinforce their understanding of what they are learning. There are so many ways to learn now and I like to use all the tools that are out there.

I also like to go over test taking strategies so that they are properly prepared for their exams. I've found that many students have a hard time with multiple choice tests especially when the questions are ones that require them to think out of the box because the answers are not numbers.

I am always available to a student by email once they start working with me. I also encourage students to contact me by phone if they need me because they are stuck, but to work on their own independently and try to get it done. I like email if possible because I can see where someone has gone wrong and quickly get them back on track. Sometimes it is just one number or entry that was wrong.
