It is rewarding to me to help people understand and succeed academically. Having high expectations and providing a caring, patient, and positive environment are my guiding principles. I strive to instill self-confidence and self discipline in each student and keep them on task and focused. Also, I encourage my students to ask questions and say, "I don't understand." My lessons are tailored to the individual learning style and personality of the student. Finally I maintain communication with my student's parents and teachers so everyone is on the same page. I have found these methods to bring the best results. I also teach study skills, organizational skills, and test preparation (including the CHSEE) to all my students. I have also taught captivating hands-on science demonstrations to groups. I like to involve the students and ask them what is happening and why. Concepts I have taught are light, air pressure, sound, and more. I am a child advocate and a former pediatric ICU nurse. I love interacting with children in sports, academics, and other activities and having fun with them. Yes, I love Kids of all ages! Have a great school year!
