As a long-time illustrator and model designer, I have much to offer in the areas of technique, color , composition, scale, texture, and detail. I attended California School of Art In Oakland CA . BA 1980. I have freelanced and worked as a consultant for several graphics oriented entities. My illustration work includes video game art, children's books, magazine art, puzzle art, and numerous commemorative map projects. My model work ranges from personal "toys" to a recreation of Winslow Homers' 1909 , Massachusetts studio, to architectural models for internationally recognized Moshe Safdie. Many schools have invited me to present work and talk about how a picture begins and ends up in a book, or magazine or video screen. Being able to pass on acquired knowledge to interested students is a pleasure and possibly part of my job as an artist. No one knows when or where a student will find visual creation as an outlet for personal ideas and feelings. I do not expect all students to have great talent nor is it necessary. Everyone has an instinct to put something "down on paper". I simply help that along and provide some tools and methods to enhance the experience. With a bit of effort, and a willingness to accept that the learning curve might be slow, every kid can catch their train and move out at their own pace. Talented students will likewise invest time and effort and accelerate at their pace. The artwork pictured is of the fabulous 1968 Rover 2000 TC, a remarkable and enduring design.
