I have been working with students in both one-on-one and classroom settings for the past six years. For four years, I tutored a number of high school students in various science and math classes, as well as elementary school students in reading, science, and math. Currently, I tutor an elementary school student in Hebrew reading, and I am employed by Temple Emanu-El in Providence, RI as a religious school teacher. Additionally, I recently graduated from a teacher training program run by a synagogue in Cherry Hill, NJ.
My experience with teaching and working with children extends beyond academics, as I have worked as a counselor at Camp Harlam for the past three summers, a job that involves teaching daily lessons to campers.
I choose to tutor and teach because I find the experience both enjoyable and rewarding. I understand that while some students may embrace the idea of having a tutor, others might be less enthusiastic about devoting more time to their studies. In working with all of my students (particularly the latter), I make a special effort to draw connections between the subject at hand and real-life examples that the students can relate to. My relatively young age combined with my experience with tutoring and teaching enhances my ability to relate to students and understand their point of view, which enables me to better help them improve academically.
I am currently a sophomore at Brown University, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.
I graduated from Moorestown High School in Moorestown, NJ in 2008 with a 4.0 GPA. If you are interested in my standardized test scores and grades in specific courses, I would be happy to share them with you, if it would assist in your decision to hire me.
When I am not tutoring, teaching religious school, or attending class, I enjoy giving tours of Brown's campus to prospective students, advising freshman through Brown's peer advising program, working on Brown's Undergraduate Council of Students, an
