I have been a teacher at all levels, including community college, high school, middle school and elementary. I taught ESL at the middle school and community college level, and have many years experience teaching English,(all areas) Math,(including Algebra), Economics, History, Social Studies. I am a published writer and have tutored students at the University level in writing. I was able to save one kindergarten student from being put into Special Education. He is in third grade now and doing very well. I tutored two Pakistani girls in ESL and an eighth grade student, who was also being recommended for Special Education because her math grades were very low. She is now in high school and doing very well. My current students include a young man who has difficulty in reading and also a university student who is taking French. The challenge of tutoring is to define the problem and solve it. This requires an individual approach unique to each student, which I find very interesting. I work with parents and school districts to help younger students to succeed.
