While I was in school, I always had a knack for understanding the subject matter at hand and being able to impart my knowledge to classmates. I know how to reach out to students and understand where they are having difficulties and in the process identify a plan on how to overcome those difficulties.   I also have the ability to draw on relationships on various topics inside the subject matter as to help a student understand the big picture.  From there, we drill down to the details so that a student can fully understand the subject matter at hand.  I also can give our various techniques in order to recall formulas (espcially in math and accounting) so students do not have to memorize formulas, as this can cause failure to recall during an exam.  I want them to understand the formulas and understand the relationships that exist between formulas as this will allow the student to memorize less information and be better prepared.
