catherine's Professional Information

I have extensive experience in working with gifted and talented, also difficult-to-manage children and adolescents—sometimes the more “onerous” the better! I also have extensive Special Education (SPED) experience, and am actively registered as a Home-Hospital-Tutor (HHT) for the State of Hawaii—Honolulu District, through the SPED Division. I have a very strong background in Clinical Psychology, and read approximately 150 pages of medical information a week to stay current on medications, therapeutic treatment advances, and the latest in Psychology and Medicine. I design and implement individual learning plans for all my students (4th- college), and have worked with over 450 students in my 25 years as a child and family counselor, and private tutor. I have worked extensively with the DOE, Hawaii Tutoring Services, and on my own with students from just about every school on Oahu. Additional Background for Catherine H. Richards Awards: 1984 to 1990 Nominated and accepted to be one of the "250 Most Outstanding Women in America" in 1984, and was nominated for the next 6 years. 1995 to the present was nominated and accepted into WHO'S WHO of Executives and Professionals Continuing Medical Education units on-going since 2006.

I handle all major test prep, software/hardware questions for PC and MAC, I will travel to you if necessary. I organize weekly fieldtrips for the 6th to 9th grade crowd, covering all major subjects. I liase with all doctors, schools etc. and I have a private practice for child and family counseling...450 cases over more than 25 years. I am confident that I may be of assistance...it's about listening, sometimes you instruct, coach, guide, sometimes you bake cookies and listen...you will be happy with my services.
