I have been a classroom teacher and private tutor for 8 years. I really enjoy working in small groups or one-on-one with students to help them reach their full potential! My tutoring style is very student centered. I believe that learning can and should be fun. I like to create lessons that include your personal interests so the learning objectives make sense, are relative to your life and will ultimately stick! For example, if you're interested in sports, I will make math problems that revolve around sports.
In addition to working on specific subjects, I will also teach you how to become more organized, increase your study skills and become a better test taker. I believe organization and time management skills are very important in the learning process. Often times students can get overwhelmed with the amount of homework they need to complete, so I also teach how to prioritize and stay on top of things.
Most importantly, I believe ALL students can learn and be successful in school and beyond. Given the chance, I can help you be the best student you've always wanted to be!
