I not only will teach you concepts, but also help you approach problems in a way I feel is beneficial to your unique learning style. I have been tutoring math to students from 7th grade to college level courses for the past 4 years. I have a very down-to-earth approach with students to make them feel comfortable about having a tutor. I like to get to know the child a little first and see what their interests are so that I can relate the material to something they would pay attention to and absorb. I also like to create a lot of example problems for practice because math is all about repetition and applying concepts to different situations. Education is the core of success. It is the means by which we feel competent and able to take on critical thinking in the workforce and for our own inner abilities. As a tutor, I am able to spread this ability onto others who may understand concepts but have trouble relating to them and staying motivated. Or, they have the complete opposite situation where they don’t understand the concepts and need to be directed to a different approach. I can help children and students break down problems into more simplified concepts in order to make math “not so scary”. The biggest problem today is that students think math is this hard, unachievable subject when, in reality, it is really just how you introduce it to them.
