My undergraduate studies were in English, Philosophy, and Religion and I maintained a 4.0/4.0 GPA throughout. I am also a current member of the Golden Key International Honor Society.
I tutor a range of subjects: math (pre-algebra to pre-calculus), logic, statistics, academic writing, English grammar, spelling, pronunciation, reading and listening comprehension, public speaking, ESL conversation practice, and standardized test preparation for the GRE, SAT, SSAT, ISEE, ASVAB, TOEFL, TOEIC, and IELTS exams.
My tutoring sessions are paced so that the students are challenged without becoming overwhelmed, and I try to vary the activities to maintain the students’ interest. I assign homework after every lesson. I also provide periodic assessments and progress reports so my students can see how much they are improving and what they still need to work on.
My schedule is flexible, so I can be available 7 days a week, for lessons in the morning, afternoon, or evening. I can meet students at my quiet, professional office space on 34th Street and 5th Avenue.
I am passionate about what I teach and committed to my students' improvement, so I ask for feedback periodically to make sure that my students are happy with my tutoring.
I look forward to hearing from you and I wish you success in your studies!
Student Feedback:
"Fantastic Teacher"
- Teresa H. from New York, NY
I have been working with Tiffany from about June of this year for GED preparation. I love her. She is attentive, kind, very professional, always very reachable on the phone, flexible and most importantly she goes out of her way to find information for me and she didn't have to do it. I recommend her because she is a fantastic teacher!!! I am making progress and she is a big part of it. She is helping me to reach my goal."
"Very Patient. Brings Clarity."
- Lisa from Newark, NJ
Tiffany continues to bring clarity to me in my logic class. I mistakenly signed up for a 201 level course and w/ Tiffany's tutoring I can see my way through it.
More On My Areas of Expertise:
ESL - English as a Second Language
I am a former education director of an English language school in midtown Manhattan. I have a certification to teach English as a Second Language as well as professional training in accent correction. I am also a native English speaker who was born in California and grew up in Washington State, near Seattle. I have taught English learners from all over the world, including Algeria, Argentina, Burma, China, France, Germany, India, Iran, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Russia, Spain, and Turkey. I have taught in schools, private homes, and public settings. I teach grammar, spelling, pronunciation, reading and listening comprehension, writing, business English, public speaking and presentation skills, American culture and etiquette, conversation practice, and TOEFL/IELTS/TOEIC test preparation. My lessons cover the four essential skills in English: reading, writing, speaking, and listening. The activities and exercises I design for my students integrate these four skills for faster progress. I also provide homework exercises so that my students have plenty of opportunities to practice between lessons.
