Hi! I have a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the Cooper Union and I love tutoring math.  With mathematics, it is of paramount importance to have a strong foundation to build upon and I will find the gaps in prerequisite knowledge so that more advanced material rests on a solid base of understanding.

My teaching is oriented towards practical problem solving because I like seeing students "get it" and be able to solve a problem that they were not able to do before.  I assess the student’s needs and learning style and tailor my teaching method and speed accordingly.  My goal is not simply to teach specific material but to also instill confidence in their own reasoning skills. 

I have experience preparing students for standardized tests such as the SAT and GRE, as well as college- and high school-level coursework in mathematics, chemistry and physics.  I scored 1480 on the SAT, 760 on the SATII Math 2c subject test, and 5 on the BC Calculus AP exam.

I passed the first 4 actuarial exams and worked as an actuarial analyst in pension consulting. The actuarial exams deal with calculus-based probability and financial mathematics. I passed exams P, FM, MLC, and MFE with high marks (including 10 on exam P), and I would gladly tutor them as well.
