A scientist and an educator, has contributed almost 26 years in scientific research and teaching and is actively involved in community participation for the advancement of science education and co curricular activities, a professional in teaching British, American & Indian curriculum as well as in foreign universities located in Middle east countries and consider teaching as my passion. My style of teaching/tutoring is student- centered. Use various learning styles to achieve the objective of the lesson by considering that all students should be able to achieve the specified level of understanding/knowledge. Those who are not up to the required level of the subject I am teaching, I have to consider them by tutoring them from the basics by attending them individually in a slow pace, until they are up to the level of others. For the slow learners, different approches are to be considered depending on their problems. First of all identify their weaknesses or reason for slow study, then make a plan for that types of individual and follow them according to the plan. When time comes, they will be slowly picking up and join with the main stream.
On the basis of Pupil Perceptions, I :
• value and appreciate them as individuals
• consistent approach to them
• Show genuine interest in pupils’ lives
• care about them and want them to succeed
• listen and respond to their ideas rather than just assessing or judging
Using Different Interactions To Match Different Purposes And Outcomes by:
• Using a variety of questions
• Offering alternative answers gives additional listening input to the learners, gives time for reflection and is useful in developing problem-solving skills
• Make specific links between what has gone before and how that fits into the ‘big picture’ - be clear on the overall aims of the study
• Allocate some time at the close to ‘pull’ things together, reiterating what has been learned, praising pupil effort and achievement
• Use peripherals and archetypes. Visual display of the subject material around the classroom improves the long-term learning by 90%. Archetypes are positive role models.
