I offer both kids and adults help with 7-12 arithmetic, algebra, geometry and trigonometry. I have taught math in public schools and know that the methods used and the pace teachers must go by is not right for everyone. Many students become bored or frustrated and end up tuning out. Many times the student is missing bits of information, because of tuning out, which leads to additional problems down the road.  By finding the missing "bits", a fuller understanding of math can easily be achieved.  I strive to provide a caring, non-judgemental learning environment with personal instruction tailored to the student's specific needs. By finding the student's strengths and weaknesses and building a strong connection with the student, I am able to determine the best tutoring methods for each of my students.  By working together with the student and the parent all aspects of the student's learning can be addressed and reinforced.  I truly believe that everybody can succeed in math, especially when their individual needs are met.

I have been tutoring for 6 years and teaching for 8.   I teach all levels of math from Pre-Algrebra to Statistics and Pre-Calculus.  All of the students that I have tutored have raised their scores at least one grade, many have raised their scores 2 or more grades.   I realize that not everyone likes math, but I do believe that everyone can learn math.  Different individuals learn differently, I find the way that best suits each student so that math becomes easier for them.  Not everyone will like math after tutoring, but they will find it easier to understand.  Once a student feels that they understand math, even a little more, their confidence in math and school rises and so do their grades.
