I am an Electrical Engineer graduate from the University of Akron currently working as a network administrator. I have been tutoring middle school, high school and college students in math ranging from: basic math to Calculus III for the past 19 years. I also taught a pre-engineering class for high school students for the Upward Bound program at the University of Akron from 2001 - 2005. I’m currently teaching a financial literacy class to 6th and 7th grade students at Emanuel Christian Academy and I am a “Seven Habits of Highly effective People” facilitator for adults and teens.
My teaching style is unique; no two students are the same. I study each student on the way they learn and then I teach the student in that way. Once the student has achieved a level on confidence in the way that they learn I begin to show the student the way their teacher/Instructor is explaining the material in class so that the student can make the connection. My goal is to help each student so that they do not need me anymore and can accomplish the work set before them from the tools I give them.
I motivate each student to become better, increase their desire to learn and challenge them to the next level. If they are used to getting "B's". I challenge them to get "A's". I bring 20 years of college and industry real life example to the students learning experience so that they can see how it not only applies into the real world but also it applies to the everyday live, culture and environment.
I have tutored students in the following subjects:
ACT, SAT, GRE, GED, Basic Math, Pre-algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Trigonometry, Calculus, Linear Algebra, Chemistry, Physics, Differential equations, Discrete math, Electrical engineering, General computer, Networking (computer), Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint and study skills
I instinctively observe each student’s learning style, motivation and the way they think to help maximize the student’s strengths while improving upon their weaknesses.
