Hello,
I am a psychology student at the University of Florida. I am hard working, motivated, and enthusiastic individual with a wide range of experiences to enrich and inform my students' learning. I started out as a fine arts major who earned honors at programs for high school students at The Art Institute of Chicago and Ringling School of Art and Design before switching to psychology. This past summer, I worked as a research assistant at a number of psychology labs at Yale University and am currently working on a program investigating new therapies for post traumatic stress disorder among other projects. In addition to being a workaholic, I also enjoy swing dancing, camping, and the default of human existence: hanging out with friends.
I have experience working with children of all ages as a teacher assistant in the fine arts and as a tutor in math and reading, I have tutored high school students in math, and I am currently a peer mentor through the Office of Academic Support at UF. I make excellent grades and graduated from high school having earned the International Baccalaureate diploma and honors with the Advanced Placement program. I also scored a 1450 on the SAT. My success in these areas came about through studying and hard work, so, I have a first hand insight into what it takes to "make the grade."
I have particular interest in working with gifted students by taking their learning to the next level and challenging them to reach new heights.
I am a friendly, caring individual who is genuinly concerned for the success of her students. I am creative in my approaches and adaptive to the needs of my students. I work with any age and will be more than happy to see if we are a good fit.
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have further questions.
