I am a certified teacher, tutor, and home school teacher to all students especially those with special needs. I use a variety of methods so students get the most out of their experience. These include games, research, and additional homework and tests when needs. Progress reports are provided when needed. Each session is equipped with core curriculum activities and learning sessions that are centered around the students' needs including homework help and test preparation. Parents also actively participate in sessions when needed and are invited to observe sessions when they feel they want. Sessions plans are given to students and parents when requested. Meetings are held with teachers, parents, and school administrators when needed to determine the best course of action for each student. Additional materials are provided. Online tutoring is also available.
Online tutoring is conducted using an instant messaging system, and e-mail. This allows students who do not have time for personal sessions to still benefit from a positive learning experience. Homework, research, and online activities are also provided. When needed, a fax machine is also available.
The main goals of each session are the following:
1. A positive learning experience.
2. Consistent student participation.
3. Parental involvement.
4. Goals and objectives for each session are completed.
5. A fun and engaging learning environment.
6. Commitment from students.
7. Homework assignment completion.
8. Questions answered.
9. Students are challenged to using problem-solving and critical thinking skills
10. Each session brings a new and unique learning experience for all.
I hope this gives an overview of my teaching methods. My goal and objective is to be sure all students learn in accordance with their own learning style. If all parties show a full commitment, then success will result and a positive learning experience will be had by all and students will be able to show their full potential.
