As a recent college graduate, I can relate to the stresses and pressures presented in today's academic environment. As classrooms become more impacted it is easy to get lost or left behind no matter how hard you struggle to stay on top. The best cure to this problem is personal attention and someone to answer your questions and concerns that don't get voiced in class. After four years of university-level science classes and countless group/private tutoring sessions, I feel like I have an excellent grasp on what generates good results.
I believe the key to being successful in the classroom is confidence. I work with students to help them feel comfortable with the material and feel prepared to tackle anything that is thrown at them. It is invaluable to feel prepared BEFORE you walk into class and this is what I strive to help students do. By becoming familiar with the material before or while it is being taught puts students at ease in a classroom environment because it is no longer a struggle to keep up with the curriculum.
The sciences are often the most dreaded subjects faced in school and the fact that they are my passion, inspires me to want others to enjoy them as well! I make it my personal goal to make the subject more interesting, relevant and understandable. I am aware that every student requires a different teaching style and I enjoy the challenge of finding ways to personalize the material in a way that they are able to connect with.
At the University of California, Santa Barbara, I tutored a diverse list of science courses to underclassmen students from physics, biology and chemistry but have in the past also tutored high school and middle school students and am confident I can help them achieve great results as well!
