Currently, I am studying for MS degree in the Dept. of Management Science and Engineering of Stanford University. Apart from course work and projects, I am doing research for Prof. Chuck Eesley in my department, focusing on statistic analysis of the difference between hi-tech based startups in China and US. I'm on the Strategy, Organizations and Entrepreneurship track, and always bear the dream of starting up my own tech-based company in the Bay Area.
I am an easy-going girl from China. Please don't doubt my communication skills in English as I have been the 2nd Runner-up winner of the most influential English Public Speaking Contest in China. And I have bunches of experiences delivering speeches and making presentations.
I received my BS degree in Tsinghua University, the top university in China. I majored in Biomedical Engineering. As it was a typical cross-discipline, I managed to acquire professional knowledge in many different branches, including maths, physics, chemistry, biology, medicine, electrical engineering, computer science, etc.
I have research experiences in 5 different labs in both Tsinghua and Stanford University. Last summer, I worked as modeling team leader of the Stanford iGEM team, and built a novice gene regulation model of the wild type tryptophan system. Later our team won Gold Medal and Best Health/Medicine Project in iGEM09 held at MIT. At Tsinghua, I rotated in the lab of Bioinformatics, Image processing and Biomedical Micro-devices.
I got 1480 pts in GRE (Verbal 680, Quantative 800, Writing 5.5). I scored 116 in TOEFL.
I am proficient at Adobe Photoshop, Matlab, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Publisher), etc.
I have 2 years' tutoring experience in China and have tutored 3 different students on different subjects including Chinese, Matlab and Linear Algebra. I'm outgoing and optimistic, always turn out to be good friends with my students. It's my pleasure helping you!^^
