Hello, my name is Samantha. I have been tutoring children since I began high school as a 9th grader. Now, as an 11th grader, it has become one of my passions. I love working with kids from kindergarten age to high school age. I think tutoring is essential to the education system because everyone learns differently and teachers are not always able to accommodate all of their students. I enjoy helping students find different study techniques and learning approaches to help them better grasp concepts and ideas.
I normally help students by assisting them with the work and resources already given to them by their teachers but if I feel it is necessary, I will provide extra practice. I find that students normally have all the necessary tools to understand the material they just need help learning to look at things a different way.
I am very flexible in terms of hours. I am in school Monday through Friday from 8:00am until 3:00pm but I can schedule anytime afterwards or on the weekends. I can come to students anywhere in the Main Line area or the Downingtown/Exton area. The same times apply for online tutoring sessions.
I offer package sessions which are normally scheduled once a week for students over a semester or one time sessions to help students prepare for tests or exams. The package sessions come with discounts for certain periods of time. I tutor some students in specific subjects and some with more of a general approach.
For first time customers I usually like to set up a meeting with student and parent to discuss goals, learning style and scheduling and then begin regular sessions. I think that this is imperative for good communication and success.
