diane's Professional Information

I taught all subjects from K-5th grade for the past 11 years. I believe that learning can  be achieved by everyone, and when you make learning fun, children want to learn more. I have helped many students achieve their goal, and pass the state test.  There are many tricks to learning, and I will teach you them. Learning is not all about sitting and listening. I believe that all students should be part of the learning process. By doing things hands on gives you a better vision of what is being taught. Many students struggle, and want to give up, but I don't believe that anyone should give up, everyone can learn, and achieve their goals. Sometimes children have different learning styles, I will teach you according to how you learn the best. I worked with children that their parents thought would have to go to a special program. In one school year I worked and worked with these children and by the end of the year they were reading on level, and mastering their subjects. I worked in the extended school program to help some students move up a level, and worked in small groups, I helped them with their homework, and subject areas where they needed help the most. I gave each student different work to help them advance where they needed it the most. I believe that all children can learn, and sometimes all they need is a little push. Once they master that subject the smile on their faces is priceless. My approach to teaching is to help students with whatever subject area they are lacking in, and give them the motivation, and confidence that they need to achieve. There are many different kinds of learning materials that can be used to help a child, and when you make learning fun, children don't even realize they are learning.
