Physics and math seem to be a mystery to many students, but it doesn't have to be this way. If a student has a brain-knot when it comes to science, especially physics and the associated math, I am happy to help untie that knot in one-on-one sessions, either in person or online. I believe that the key to understanding science and math is not the memorization of various problem sets, but the development of analytical and critical thinking, a skill which is useful in life beyond the classroom setting. Analytical thinking is not a skill that can be acquired overnight, which is why I can't promise quick fixes and instant results. But I can promise a definite improvement in a student's understanding of the subject if they are willing to put in the required amount of time and work.

About me:

I have a Masters degree in Engineering Physics and a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics and I have postdoctoral experience at Stanford and at MIT. I am author and co-author of over 40 research publications and have given more than 35 scientific presentations at conferences and invited seminars. During my undergraduate and graduate studies I have taught and tutored math and physics from the high school to the graduate level, and I have continued to develop my teaching expertise during my postdoctoral training.

My tutoring hours and availability are somewhat flexible. I am happy to tutor all aspects of math and physics, from high school to graduate school level, as well as share my knowledge on how to write successful academic CVs and applications. Furthermore, I am bilingual in English and German.

Moreover, because I love sharing my knowledge with others and am passionately racing bicycles in my spare time, I also hold a coaching license by the USA Cycling federation.
