aaron's Professional Information

I have worked with students of all ages and from all walks of life.  I began teaching English to native Spanish speakers two years ago.  From there I began to teach Spanish to English speakers.  I have branched out since then and given the correct materials, I can teach almost anything.  

I have a passion for writing and music.  These are my areas of expertise.  Writing is one of the oldest and most elegant forms of communication.  English is an especially beautiful language with an extensive vocabulary from which a writer can fill their pages.  I feel, with invention of texting, people have become disconnected from the action of writing.  Spelling and grammar have suffered dramatically as well.  These are principles that I like to brand into those that I teach.  The best way to communicate and organize ideas is through writing.  I teach various forms of essay writing and I also teach the research skills that are sure to help anyone find what they are looking for, for their paper.  I teach correct formatting skills as well as correct citation.  I am sure to help turn the poor to moderate writer into a paper writing machine.

I teach guitar, bass and piano, through online practicums or at the comfort of your own home.  I also work with home recording and I would love to teach anyone with a recording setup what I know.  Music is an amazing art form and it helps to release the stress that comes along with an everyday work or school schedule.  Picking up the guitar for an hour a day has the same benefits as reading a book for the same amount of time.  It's beneficial to have an activity or hobby that is creative and artistic.  A lot of famous Greek philosophers were also musicians.  I like to work with students that are just beginning or are at the intermediate level.

I grew up in a home school setting, so I know what it takes to be a successful student at home.  I feel that because I received an education from a private tutor through a nationally accredited home school program, I was more prepared for college than most of my classmates.  I understand that one of the disadvantages of home schooling is that students don't get the daily social interaction with their peers, but I would love to bridge the gap and help them get out there and make friends, either other home schoolers or through other extracurricular programs.

I am dedicated to teaching and I plan on becoming a teacher after I finish school.  I can tutor in a number of different subjects; just ask me and I will tell you if it's possible.  I am here for the experience of doing something good for those who need help and I want to be able to make a difference in someone's life through education, mentoring and friendship.
