I am a graduate of Randolph-Macon College with a degree in Mathematics. My teaching style is influenced by my liberal arts education, creating the desire to think outside of the box and truly learn information rather than simply "plug and chug". I was homeschooled until college and have always enjoyed working with home-school students. I have also tutored public school students and am looking to expand my tutoring to college-level tutoring as well. I approach tutoring with enthusiasm and creativity. My goal is always to see the student succeed on their own to the point they no longer need me. I do not want to help you scrape by in a class, but truly learn and succeed.
I began college at the age of 17 and completed my degree in three years at the top of my class, receiving induction into some of the most prominent honor societies for math, science and liberal arts. I have also been honored for outstanding academic acheivement and many other such honors. To accomplish these thing took tremendous dedication and hard work even in the midst of trial. Because of my drive and passion for education I find myself to be a good educator, who can explain things from multiple viewpoints helping to make material accessible to all. My education also provided me with the experiences of presenting mathematical findings and research to highly regarded mathematicians which prepares me also to instruct others how to present their findings.
