As an experienced educator I possess the skills and background necessary to help both gifted and special need students in a personalized and meaningful way.

I have had the privilege of attending many famous universities, and understand the skills and characteristics necessary to excel in them.  Although I was born and raised in the United States, in addition to attending Cornell University, Berkeley and UCLA, I have also been a visiting student at Tsinghua University and the London School of Economics, and earned good grades from all of them.  Therefore, I am able to comfortably assist gifted students with their studies, as well as suggest areas for improvement in their education.

I have become comfortable with many difficult subjects during my education, but nothing was harder than learning the patience and enthusiasm necessary for me to learn.  Now, after four years of teaching and tutoring in a variety of subjects, I have seen that that patience and enthusiasm have become my greatest strengths.  Therefore, I enjoy pairing my substantive teaching with general learning skills.  Knowing that there are many learning styles, my approach to each student is personalized, helping the student to develop and exploit their own style of self-education.  Nonetheless, I help each student meet their own goals, and ensure that a balance is struck between subject knowledge and test-taking preparation.  I especially enjoy working with unique students who have challenges of learning disabilities, behavior difficulties, or cultural unfamiliarity.

Most of my teaching and tutoring experience has been teaching English to students outside the United States, and I have taught in Italy and China, but I also have much experience teaching and tutoring in the United States as well.  My students have been small school children as well as doctoral candidates and corporate supervisors.  This familiarity with different learning contexts, paired with my solid educational background, provides me with the expertise and confidence necessary to personalize my approach to meet the needs of the students, even when creative and "non-conventional" methods are necessary.

I find great fulfillment in helping others improve and succeed, and have found my professional background empowers my efforts.  When I haven't been helping others by teaching, I have been providing legal services to those with special needs, or aiding in the administration of various non-profits.  The skills I have gained from my additional experience as an attorney or consultant for various entrepreneurs and businesses have made my help all the more valuable to those I serve.
