I have been active in the Information Technology field for eleven years.  In short, I possess a passion for computer technology. My area of specialization is Unix/linux and Windows Administration, including safe/wise and responsible use of today's Internet.

I believe in the facilitation and maintenance of an efficient computing environment.  One of the most important aspects of personal computing in my opinion is data backup. I teach/provide smart backup/restore strategies.

One of my desires as a tutor is to fill in the gap that is left with students upon entering and after leaving school (elementary, middle school and high school). I believe the public school system does not prepare young students enough in the way of safe Internet browsing. There are many dangers that exist on the Internet today. Besides the Internet pedophile prowlers that exist today, I believe children should be better educated in the way of Identity Fraud and the many scams that are apparent on sites such as craigslist, facebook and myspace.  Others, such as Ebay as well. There are also scams that exist which prowl on dating site profiles.

My interest is to enlighten the younger generation before getting too deeply entrenched in the Internet with the posting of pictures, videos and personal information which can be exploited if in the wrong hands.

Many cases of missing persons might have been avoided if children have been properly taught how to be more careful on the Internet.  Many children do not understand that the Internet is wide open and browsing as such opens us up to many vulnerabilities that could have been avoided.

Aside from the dangers of the Internet, my interest also lies in showing people the proper way to backup their data. It is so much better to use a computer with the confidence to know your data is safe in the event you are hit with a virus.
