I am a medical intern well versed in all of the life sciences (such as biology, chemistry, anatomy). I graduated fromXavier University and for college I went to Penn State University. My concentrations of study there were Science and English, particularly English poetry and literature. I am a teacher at heart, having taught in various venues, including summer camp, Sunday School, and one on one tutoring and mentoring sessions. I look forward to helping you learn while enjoying learning, and reaching your full potential.
My approach to tutoring is twofold. First, I assess the student to see where he or she is in the learning process: what the subject is and what their learning style is. Diagnosing any problems in studying or knowledge deficit, I then move on to the second stage, which is tailor making a strategy and approach to tacking the material so that the student may maximize their learning and usage of our time together.
Though my strength and tutoring experience mainly lies in teaching one and one, I am comfortable tutoring small groups of up to three students. I can tutor middle school, high school, college, and early level graduate students and have tutored students in all of these levels in the past in Biology, Chemistry, Anatomy, Physiology, Psychology, Ethics, English grammar, theater, and literature. More than just teaching a subject for a test or a semester, I hope to impart to the student a love of learning the subject, a life lesson and motivation that will help them to succeed at learning anything in life. Being the child and spouse of immigrants gives me natural talent in teaching English as a second language (ESL), and especially English conversation, an essential element in assimilating to American culture and life. I am comfortable around dogs and cats, but no exotic reptiles, please.
