Hello,
I am currently the Director of a Montessori Preschool, where I administrate and teach young children, using a hands-on approach of learning. The Montessori method encourages a full conceptual understanding rather than traditional memorization. There are 3 year olds in my preschool that are already reading because our teaching method is so successful. Some of my students who are not even old enough to go to a public kindergarten are at a 3rd grade reading and math level. They have mastered multiplication, division, fractions, as well as knowledge of all phonograms, parts of speech and various functions of grammar. I am confident that I can teach any child. I have worked with children with speech delay, as well as dyslexia and dyscalculia. I love working with young children, and I have over 7 years of experience teaching at preschools, using the Montessori method.
My expertise is in the field of English. I was one of the editors of my high school newspaper, and I majored in Creative Writing. After graduating high school I interned and worked for Warner Bros. where I would read and review scripts, and find writers for various projects, so I am familiar with writing in the entertainment field as well. I am an avid reader, and I enjoy writing creatively as well as song writing. I love writing and I am very familiar with the proper structure of various assignments from research papers and persuasive essays, to short stories. I can tutor up to a high school level for English.
I have a lot of patience as I am used to working with very young children and I'll do my best to make the subject I'm tutoring a fun, and enjoyable experience for my students. I am dedicated and will make sure that my students understand their subject and feel confident no matter what it takes. :)
