I can speak both Thai and English fluently so I can teach in either language depending on the need of the student. I personally prefer tutoring students face to face since I feel that it is easier to communicate our ideas and thoughts that way. I do not mind working in small group (preferably not more than 5 students at a time since I feel that if the group is larger than that then I would not be able to give my attention to my students equally) since I understand that sometimes if you are not use to that person you might not be comfortable talking with them on a one-on-one basis.
I started tutoring my fellow students when I was in 10th grade through my school program that hires high school students to give private lessons to our middle school student. Of course I also tutor my friends, most of which are non-native English speaker since I study in an international school (International School Bangkok a.k.a I.S.B). This allows me to understand the difficulties they face when they are trying to adapt to both the cultural differences and their frustration in trying to study all the subject we need to learn in a language they are not use to. At I.S.B I also took the classes for the International Baccalaureate (IB) program (which at I.S.B is taught in combination with the Advanced Placement (AP) program) so I am familiar with their exams and the material it covers. I also sit for the SAT I test and also the TOEFL test so even if there are different version of the test out now, I am sure that the basic foundation would not be that different. I also have some experience working as a teacher assistant for both regular class and for ESL classes so I am use to the different condition that comes with it. After my graduation from high school, I continue to tutor fellow students at my university (Mahidol University International College) where I obtain my bachelor in Biomedical science and I also have a minor degree in Psychology. Due to the fact that many of the basic foundation classes (such as Biology, Chemistry, Physic, Mathematics, English etc) combine many majors together I get to tutor people from different major (such as Food science, Computer science, etc) aside from those in my own major so I am rather flexible in adjusting the difficulty level to match those that I am tutoring. Due to the these experience I can adapt to a rather wide age group and so I can ensure all my prospective students and their guardian that I can adapt my methods to best suit your needs in order to optimize each session.
