I am a college student at the University of Texas at Arlington.  I am currently studying to earn a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Mathematics.  I also have plans to complete my certification in Education in order to teach professionally one day.  As of now, I want to use my free time during the school year to tutor anyone and everyone who needs assistance in subjects they are currently struggling in.  My expertise is in Mathematics and Computers but I also can offer help and guidance in other subjects if need be.  I prefer to tutor Elementary through High School students since I have already completed those courses, but I am also willing to offer any help I can in College level Mathematics.

I have been tutoring students since I was in Middle School, however I have only officially been tutoring for the past 3-4 years. I offer both online and in-person tutoring, but i prefer in-person because I believe students learn best and are more attentive when face-to-face with the tutor.  I recently completed a tutoring course in the Philippines where a group of us college students would visit different schools and offer free tutoring to students.  In this course, I gained experience in both teaching entire classrooms to tutoring individual students.  I also have done many private tutoring sessions around the Dallas-Fort Worth area to students whose parents thought that their child needed assistance in passing his/her classes.  In most cases, I have transformed a struggling student into a student who excels in his/her classwork.  I believe that learning is all in the mindset of the students and their willingness/motivation to succeed.  Many lack this motivation because they have no peer or mentor that they can look up to and learn from.  Me being a young college student, can provide a positive learning perspective by being that certain mentor, friend or "big brother" that will influence them to succeed in their studies.

I can provide previous contacts who would gladly recommend me as a tutor and are willing to share their experience as a mentored student or as a satisfied parent.
