My teaching style is one that employs context and positive reinforcement. A student can simply learn facts and spit them back out onto a scantron sheet or blank sheet of paper. It is the joy and curiosity that comes with learning is the enriching factor for a student. My passion for teaching and sharing knowledge in all Arts/Humanities effects shows in my enthusiasm for the arts and my untiring community involvement. I am currently a member of the Miami Art Museum (MAM Contemporaries), the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts Greenroom Society (GRS), Women of Wynwood and the Miami-based Locust Projects artist space and residency program. It is consistently my intention to honor both the students' time and (if applicable) their parents' time in assisting them with any academic needs.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree from Florida State University in English Literature with a minor in Philosophy. I am a proud member of the Florida State University Alumni Association. After completing my undergraduate studies, I received a Master of Letters (with Merit) degree from Christie's Education London (University of Glasgow) in the History of Art & Connoisseurship, concentrating in Modern & Contemporary Art. I read, speak and write at a basic to intermediate level in Italian, having spent six months living in Florence, Italy and three years of formal language instruction. I have practiced the piano for fifteen years and continue to play. I have also attained professional training in dance, musical theatre, acting and voice.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, Bikram yoga, museum-gallery visits and recreational travel. Recent travels have included Sydney, London, Basel and New York City. I will be traveling next I opened my own Art Consultancy & Education business in January of this year. Please feel free to contact me with any further questions!
