I believe that it is important for students to get one on one help with their problem areas. Some schools can't provide this kind of help to students in need. I have completed my bachelors degree for elementary education but am not certified through New York State. I also have  completed many college classes and I am currently taking classes for nursing. I am also a mother of one boy.

I have experience in teaching. I attended all of my practicums for college and I was a student teacher for four months. After I completeled my education I became a substitute teacher. My strongest area was working with children in small groups. I felt that I was getting through to them more effectively. I have also worked with children with special needs and enjoyed every minute with these special children. My strongest area is reading and english but I can adapt to any subject because my college courses taught me to do so. I also like working one on one with children because I feel that they learn so much more when they feel that they are on an equal level to their teachers. Another effective way to teaching is using multiple methods to teach the same thing.

I prefer tutoring in person because I feel that it is more effective. I will be willing to travel to you if you are in the Central New York area. After some thought I have made the decision that I want to be a tutor because I really enjoy working with children and I feel that they also need a break from the traditional teaching methods. I feel that if a child works a few hours a week with a tutor outside of school can greatly benefit them. I also feel that tutors need to be creative and make their lessons fun so that the child actually wants to participate.
