I am a rising junior at Rutgers University, New Brunswick. I am a Mathematics/Computer Science major, and I have a 4.0 GPA. I am also a School of Arts and Sciences Honor student. I worked for the Rutgers Mathematics department as a peer mentor, which entailed grading homework and giving students one-on-one attention during Calculus I and II workshops.

I am skilled at understanding students' questions and the reasons that they have difficulty grasping certain concepts. I am able to present ideas in a clear and intuitive manner so that students can easily learn and retain information. My students have repeatedly told me that I am easy to understand, and that the concepts they learn while working with me stick with them for long periods of time.

I have excelled in Mathematics and Computer Science courses up to an advanced level. I can tutor any high school level or below math or computer science class. This includes Algebra I and II, Precalculus, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, and Statistics, and well as any AP programming class.

I believe that all kids can learn these subjects if they are approached in the correct way. I reinforce the concepts I teach by providing examples and helping kids to work through problems on their own. A gentle push in the correct direction is almost always more valuable than giving an answer. When a student works out a problem themselves, with help from the tutor, it gives them confidence and allows them to better remember the material.

I am available in the New Brunswick/Piscataway area during the months that college is in session. From mid-May through the end of August, I will be home in Cherry Hill, and thus unavailable. My schedule is flexible and I will be glad to work with you to find the most convenient time for you.
