christine's Professional Information

I am in my senior year majoring in Social Science Single Subject teaching at San Diego State University.  My goal is to fullfill the required exprerience needed to be admitted to the Teaching Credential Program at SDSU.  I also plan to use this opportunity to gain wisdom from working with Junior High and High School students.  My fees are free.  This tutoring goal I have is to assist you in your future endeavors in Social Science programs like American History, World History, Geography, Political Science and Economics.  I will be taking California History, American History, Economics and World History Fall semester.  I have already taken Chicano Studies, Geography, American History, Supreme Court Justice last semester. 

I have worked with children before when I started up my own childcare business in my home.  I understand the key to success is mainly based on how well a person manages their time.  I believe that paying attention to detail is helpful for studying.  Flashcards worked well for me when I studied for tests.  I also learned the trick of drawing timelines and formulating acronyms as a way to remember information.  I have learned to study a chapter each day and believe that inch by inch is a cinch.  I realized that cramming the night or week before for a test adds unneeded stress to the test taker.  Useful information then is harder to retrieve because of misunderstanding of the material.  I will work with the student to draw deadlines of when to complete assignments.  If assignments are not finished than I will consult the parent.
