Having a broad educational experience is not enough in the working world today. As our work force requires a wide variety of skills, specialization is equally becoming ever more important, and institutions are beginning to reflect that. Competency in both must be achieved for a student to be successful in school and beyond. While some of that can be done through the preparation for a significant examination, there is one skill essential to the success of any aspiring student's endeavor which has, in my experience, been overlooked for the past several years, and that is writing.    

I'm a Managing Editor for an academic publishing company who holds a master's degree in writing. I can instruct in high level reading comprehension, enhancement of vocabulary, methods of critical analysis, and of course, improving the expression of thought through writing. The way I work is to first focus on defining a student's individual goals and then to help him or her find their own way at their own pace. I guide students either by asking questions or constructing challenges designed to compel the student to find their own insights, and think about how to effectively communicate them using their own style of employment. What I hope to accomplish is to not only assist students in achieving their goals, but to equip them with the knowhow to define their own strategy of discourse.

Having known the joy of challenging myself and my own writing by interacting with instructors with tremendous insight in their own right, I'd like the opportunity to give back by being your tutor.
