I have several years of tutoring experience.  I started tutoring in high school.  Initially, I privately tutored a young man in algebra and Spanish.  I soon began working at the local public library as both a page and tutor. I tutored students of all ages in all subjects every day after school for a year and a half.

I continued working as a tutor in college. I tutored college students in writing, Spanish, and French in my university's Academic Enrichment Center.  I earned my BA in English with my minor in French from McMurry University.  McMurry is a small private liberal arts school in Abilene, Texas. While at McMurry University, I earned the Outstanding First-Year Writer Award.  After graduating, I immediately began working on my Masters in Education.  Two years later, I earned my MA in Secondary Education (high school level) with my minor in literature from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas.     

Since earning my Bachelor's Degree, I have been working either as a teacher or a substitute teacher.  Most recently, I taught theater arts and technical theater to students in ninth through twelfth grades.   I designed curriculum, wrote lesson plans, taught lessons, and assessed students' progress through creative projects and performances.                                            

While I have experience teaching and tutoring students in multiple subjects, my focus has always been writing and literature.  I have taken a variety of English and literature classes both at the undergraduate and graduate level.  I thoroughly enjoy reading and write on occasion for pleasure.

My tutoring schedule is fairly flexible.  I am available to tutor every day of the week both in person and online.  I can tailor tutoring sessions to suit your current needs.  I can assist with writing and proofreading methods and techniques, literary analysis, reading comprehension and anything else in the realm of English.
