 Hello,

    My name is Swapnil Baral. I am physics and math major studying at UT Arlington. I am as curious about learning as I am about teaching.

     Teaching and learning are two faces of the same coin. In a sense, teaching is also learning. As I tutored in the past I have found that I learn the material more each time I teach it. That is why, having experienced tutor makes difference. I am happy that I have gotten this experience as I have been tutoring for last four years. After tutoring for such a long time, I became a certified tutor from the tutoring center at College.

     While tutoring, the first thing I try to understand is where the student is having the problem. I believe that without understanding where and what the problem is, it is not easy to solve it. Therefore after I understand the problem, I try to explain the solution of the problem or the concept behind it in many different ways; I have experienced that different people find different explanation more understandable.

     When I also help students with their homeworks, at the same time I also help them to provide the concept behind the problem that will help them solve similar problem by them self in the future. I also do my homework before tutoring to make sure that I give hundred percent of what I am trying to do. I become friendly with students because I believe tutoring session has to be less formal compared to classroom environment. Friendly explanation not just encourages students to ask their confusion without hesitation but also creates interest in the subject they study.
