Benefits of a Reading Tutor
Reading is one of life’s great gifts and at a young age it excites a child and opens their eyes to a whole new world. Once they begin reading, they start to understand their environment and are always shouting and sounding out words they see on signs, as they sit in the backseat of the car. Children learn to read at school and at home, but sometimes they need a little extra attention from a professional tutor to help initiate their reading skills.
Tutors have spent years learning how to individually teach children to read and know how to push the right buttons. The reason tutors are so effective is that they seen their methods work over and over again. Your child won’t be the first child they have taught to read and they won’t be the most difficult. They have seen, first hand, all the benefits that reading brings to a child. By working with a tutor, your child will become excited about reading and enthusiastic about turning the next page of a book. Their mind will begin to grow and their vocabulary will start to expand. They will use new words and mature before your very eyes. Instead of sitting in from of a television all afternoon watching cartoons or playing with their Wii; they can be working with a tutor and start improving their focus and concentration. There are so many benefits that reading brings, such as: building self esteem, improving memory, inspires creativity, and reduces boredom. Working with a tutor designed especially to improve their reading skills will make your child see how important reading is to you, and instead of you reading a bedtime story to them, they can read a story to you. A parent can chart and monitor their child’s progress and reward them when they reach a new level or achieve their goals. When a child succeeds, they begin having more confidence and that spills over into every aspect of their lives.
Teachers in school are unbelievable at what they do, but there aren’t enough hours in a school day for every student to get the individual attention they need. This is extremely important at a young age and will pay dividends throughout their schooling. Once a child excels in reading, you will begin to see positive results in other subjects as well. Reading is involved in everything we do and the sooner your child can start reading the more excited they will be about education.
